Here at The Shelter we love to celebrate moments in the fashion industry, no matter how established or well-known the designer may be. In store until the end of January, we have four AUT graduates displaying their own installations to best represent their collections.
UTOPIC VISION by JULIANNA JUNG
Utopic Vision is based on Julianna's idealistic view of the world, where it is a place of independence and freedom. It is a commentary on today's society as it explores the idea of this judgement world. Therefore, she aims to challenge society's expectations and what is considered the norm by creating boiler suits to provoke conscious awareness. This collection seeks to deliver a message on how we no longer need to be persuaded by valueless social status, trends and mindless consumption.
CRUSTYLAND by Crustal
Crustyland is an evocation, majestical and unhinged universe of an entirely different dimension. It is manifested as a luxury womenswear collection with a coherent narrative and strong inclinations of theatrical elements and satire. Each Crustyland character possesses their own identity and personality. Each look that makes this collection serves as an agent to deliver this identity. The characters of her world each symbolise social commentary on feminism, education, sensitivity, self love and self celebration.
