Posted:
We've done all the heavy lifting for you. Keeping up to date with fashion month, reporting back with what is trending this season. From the prominent oversized shapes to alluring embellishments.
These are our favourite trends you can easily replicate with a mix of International and New Zealand designers.
POLISHED NEUTRALS
36.5% of outfits on the runway. In a surprising palette cleanser, the runways find newfound maximalism in the form of neutrals. Everything from head-to-toe cream outfits in Brioni's show, to sand-coloured garments paired with crisp whites or a considered touch of black. Shop neutrals here.
54% of shows in Paris featured sparkles. The runway is taking a little bit of sparkle and shine into everyday wear. Sequins, chrome accents and metallic fabrications, from Stella McCartney's beaded blazers, to Jil Sanders sequin pleats and fringing. Shop sparkle and shine here.
EXAGGERATED PROPORTIONS
33% of shows featured oversized jackets. A trend that's near and dear to The Shelter, the Paris runways have reinforced the oversized shape. Saint Laurent explored large shoulders, whereas Victoria Beckham opted to design with length. Shop exaggerated styling here.
DECONSTRUCT AND RECONSTRUCT
28% of shows reworked existing silhouettes. We've always explored different ways to wear one garment at The Shelter. And now brands, both big and up-and-coming, are taking that to the Paris runway. Coats worn inside out, sweaters with one sleeve, there's a trend of reimagining your outfit. Reminding us to look at our wardrobe differently. Shop deconstructed styles here.
